What is Tangalle Muslim Welfare Society (TMWS) ?
Tangalle Muslim Welfare Society is a Not For Profit Making Organisation (working as an umbrella Organisation). Tha Organisation is a charitable Organisation. This Organisation runs a members subscription fund and social services and other charitable donations. The Tangalle Muslim Welfare Society project aims to Improve the educational achievement of Sri Lanka Muslim poor children’s in supplementary supports and living environments. This is Organisation is not funded by Sri Lankan Government. This Organization has one chairmen one President one Secretary one Treasurer and other staff members.

Provide a range of holistic, culturally sensitive services for the communities for the of drawing on our Islamic values and heritage, with a view to improving quality of life and enhancing community cohesion.

Our aims are to:
Focus on the needs of the diverse Muslim community whilst ensuring services are open to all.
Meet the needs of the local community by promoting health, education and employment opportunities.
Provide Muslims and non-Muslims with the opportunity to learn and understand Islam, through dialogue, discussion and social interaction.
Contribute to the social, cultural, spiritual and economic enhancement of the whole community, through policy and strategy development and service.
We are working towards making this website a medium where all aspects relating to the mosque and the community are addressed. Therefore, your feedback is welcome and will be greatly appreciated as it will assist us in achieving our goals.
The Objectives:
• To have an association to initiate and implement effective programs for economic,
social, and educational progress of Muslims as well as other communities.
• To inculcate teachings of Islam in order to create an ideal community to foster the
feelings of fraternity and brotherhood among all human beings.
• To promote educational activities by organizing seminars, lectures, counseling of
students for career development and creation of awareness on current affairs.
• To advance educational, social, economical, recreational, religious, health and
welfare of the Muslim communities in TMWS and surrounding area.
• To work towards relief of poverty, discrimination and social exclusion of people of all
ages.
• To improve educational achievement amongst children and young people from the
Muslim communities particularly Sri Lankan communities.
The Membership:
The membership of TMWS is open to Sri Lankan Muslims. The executive committee shall have the exclusive right to accept or reject an application for the membership without assigning any reason.
The membership fee is Rs. 250/- for per day and a person who becomes member of TMWS shall be considered TMWS full member. All dependent family members of a full member shall be the dependent members. However, if any adult member of the family wishes to become a full member can do so by applying for the membership. A full member shall have the voting right.
The members shall provide their inputs in decision making and extend their cooperation in the execution of the association’s programs.
Any full member can become member of any Operational Cells of TMWS as per his interest to contribute to TMWS to achieve its goals.
